Emmanuel Tricot practises French and EU competition, distribution and commercial law, advising clients and representing them before the French and European courts and competition authorities.
Emmanuel practises French and EU economic law and French commercial law, and appears before courts at every level in France and Europe.
A specialist in competition investigations, he advises clients before problems arise (compliance and audits) and defends them in proceedings before the European Commission and the French Competition Authority (cartels and abuse of dominance).
He is recognised for his work in distribution law (including online issues), franchising, and consumer and advertising law. He has helped set up or grow many distribution networks, platforms and online businesses in France and across the EU (Spain, Italy, Belgium, Germany) for clients including Michelin, Xiaomi, the LVMH group, Zalando, GrandOptical, Générale d’Optique, Quick, Brooks Brothers and Groupon.
He is also well known for his work on commercial contracts, trading relationship disputes and competition damages claims, notably in manufacturing, energy, automotive and aerospace, healthcare, consumer goods, agri-food and chemicals.
His experience extends to sector regulation (healthcare, energy, transport, telecoms and more), and he advises the firm’s clients in all their dealings with the French consumer and trade authorities (DGCCRF, DREETS and DDPP), on matters such as misleading practices, payment terms, product rules and safety, and regulatory offences.
He has extensive experience of complex merger filings (French, EU and multi-jurisdictional) and of State aid and anti-dumping rules in France, the EU and Africa.
His practice is recognised by French and international legal directories (Chambers, Legal 500, Décideurs Juridiques / Leaders League, Best Law Firms) and, individually, by Best Lawyers in France for Competition / Antitrust Law and European Union Law.
Emmanuel has taught civil, commercial and competition law at Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne, Versailles and Paris Nord universities and at Sciences Po Paris.
He has been appointed to the panel of arbitrators of the Chambre Arbitrale de la Grande Distribution (CAGD) and is an expert member of the Fédération du Commerce Coopératif et Associé (FCA).
